MCGM And TMM 2025

MCGM and TMM 2025 join forces for Race Day*

Mumbai, January 16, 2025: As the city gears up for the landmark 20th edition of the Tata Mumbai Marathon (TMM) on Sunday, January 19th, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) and TMM have announced  impactful measures to enhance the participants’ experience.

From air quality to ensuring safer roads, these efforts promise an unforgettable race day for runners and spectators alike.

Sporting events such as The Tata Mumbai Marathon are inherently green. Over the years the event has worked towards common goals of reducing carbon footprint and waste management initiatives.

Efforts undertaken to compliment the Spirit of Mumbaikars:

  • Mist Blowers

On Sunday race day, from midnight to 2:00am , MCGM will deploy mist blowers along the entire 42 km route. These machines will release a fine mist to trap any dust and particulate matter, creating a better running environment for the participants.

  • Water Jet Machines for Cleaner Roads

Roads will be cleaned with water jet machines, ensuring a debris-free route that minimizes hazards and enhances the running experience.

  • Air Quality Monitoring Stations

To measure the success of these initiatives, air quality monitoring machines will capture data before and after the spraying activity, reinforcing the commitment to a healthier marathon.

“The Tata Mumbai Marathon isn’t just about running; it’s a celebration of Mumbai’s indomitable spirit. Every year, we strive to raise the bar—not just for participants, but for the entire city. This year, our collaboration with MCGM ensures meaningful initiatives that enhance runner well being and upholds our core values of health, inclusivity, and community pride,” said Mr. Vivek Singh, Joint Managing Director, Procam International.

The Tata Mumbai Marathon, since its first edition in 2004, has been a movement built on five pillars:

1. Bringing pride to Mumbai.

2. Promoting health and fitness.

3. Fostering social harmony.

4. Establishing an inclusive charity ecosystem.

5. Supporting Indian athletics.

The landmark 20th edition of the Tata Mumbai Marathon will witness a historic 63,561 participants across categories celebrating the impact the Tata Mumbai Marathon has had in putting India on the global running map and establishing it as Asia’s most prestigious marathon.
