From Chennai, Gemologist by profession, running since 2014   

• Ran my first Full Marathon at Tata Mumbai Marathon 2018  
• My Personal best FM was in Tokyo Marathon 2023 - 3:37:02  
• This will be my 6th Full Marathon  
• My 3:55 FM Bus will run a faster first half, with some time saved in the bank to tackle the Great Peddar road challenge!

My name is Yasir Sultan, and I am from Chennai. A gemologist by profession, a passionate runner, and a proud father of two incredible boys. Having successfully completed my formal education in the field of Gems & Gemology, I am the Resident Gemologist & Partner at Madras Gem Institute, where we test & certify natural/synthetic gems. I started running in the year 2014 for fitness. I ran my first Marathon in 2018 at TMM, Mumbai with a time of 5:02:52, followed by the Berlin Marathon with a time of 5:15:00. Since then, I’ve worked hard on my fitness and have considerably increased my pace with my FM time to 3:53:19 at Delhi in 2020 & 3:37:26 at the Tokyo Marathon in 2023. Gradually, running has become more than a sport / physical activity and is a journey of self-discovery & resilience. I’m now on pursuit of completing the 6 World Marathon Majors, chasing that perfect Marathon. Being in the core team of Chennai Runners, I am actively involved in volunteering & organizing events for the running community in Chennai. Beyond the track & the institute, I’m a proud father of two incredible sons. They are my source of motivation & inspiration. At TMM 2024, my bus will run a slightly faster first half, so we have some extra time saved in the bank to tackle the great Peddar Road challenge and get to that 3:55 on time. Welcome onboard!
