We express our deep sorrow at the passing of Mr. Suvradeep Banerjee, a valued member of our running community. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family during this difficult time.
On Sunday Race Day, unfortunately, our emergency helpline did not receive notification of the incident. It is now known, that despite receiving CPR for 15 minutes, from a fellow runner, it remains unclear whether Mr Banerjee's heart was functioning during his transfer to Nair Hospital.
Upon learning of the situation, senior representatives from Procam and Asian Heart Institute promptly reached Nair Hospital. The doctors indicated the need for an autopsy,which has revealed 90% of artery blockages as a potential cause of death.
Later in the evening, our representatives met with Mrs Banerjee, offered her assistance with hospital formalities, and facilitated her return journey to Kolkata.
While anything we do cannot truly alleviate the pain of such a loss, we at Procam are committed to working with our Insurance Partner, to see what best possible monetary support, can be extended to his family.
We will maintain close communication with our Medical Partner, the Asian Heart Institute, to gather any additional insights that may emerge.
