TMM Agro Forest Initiative

The Tata Mumbai Marathon deepened its commitment to environmental sustainability through the second edition of the TMM Agro Forest Initiative, launched alongside the event’s 20th edition. What began as a pilot has now evolved into a purposeful movement — one where every stride taken on the road helps put down roots in the earth.

Led in partnership with United Way Mumbai, this flagship initiative drives meaningful climate action while supporting sustainable livelihoods for farmers. At its core is the Agri+Horti plantation model, a holistic approach that restores biodiversity, improves soil health, and reduces carbon emissions.

In 2025, the initiative saw remarkable engagement. With support from more than 2,200 runners and corporate contributors, a total of 6,547 trees were planted across 16.7 acres in Maharashtra’s Solapur district, directly benefiting 16 farmers and advancing collective sustainability goals. This is in addition to 5116 trees planted across 13 acres in 2024. In total under the TMM Agro Forest Initiative, 11,663 trees have been planted and 30 acres have been revived.

For a contribution of just ₹635 per tree, which covers three years of planting, nourishment, protection, and land supervision, anyone can become part of this growing legacy. Supporters can also choose to contribute on a larger scale by adopting multiple trees or sponsoring an entire one-acre plot of 391 trees for ₹2,48,285.

The TMM Agro Forest Initiative is open to everyone throughout the year. Whether you’re a marathon participant or simply someone who cares about the planet, you can contribute at any time. This is more than a one-day effort; it’s an ongoing mission to plant trees, empower farmers, and create lasting environmental impact.

For Tata Mumbai Marathon participants, the initiative offers the option to upgrade to the TMM Green Bib during registration. This symbolic choice identifies runners as TMM Evergreeners — individuals committed to running with purpose. Evergreeners proudly wear a dedicated green bib on Race Day.

All donors, including Evergreeners and general supporters, receive geolocation details of the trees they help plant, allowing them to see the tangible impact of their contribution over time.

With every passing year, the TMM Agro Forest Initiative aims to grow further, reaching new regions and deepening both environmental and social impact.

Join the movement. Become a TMM Evergreener. Every contribution matters.
